Keys locked in the car at a beach park, a fob that took a swim, a rental cottage door that won’t open: on the North Shore, lock and key trouble tends to happen far from home, so you need a Haleʻiwa locksmith who comes to you. Mililani Key Solutions is a mobile locksmith based in Central Oʻahu, and we drive out to Haleʻiwa, Waialua, Pūpūkea and Sunset Beach with the tools and key equipment to fix it where you are.

Most North Shore calls are about vehicles, because that’s where keys get lost: in the sand, in the ocean or locked in a trunk.

We check your ID and registration before making any key, then cut and program the new key on-site. Full details are on our automotive locksmith page.

Where We Go on the North Shore

  • Haleʻiwa town, from the harbor to the shops along Kamehameha Highway
  • Waialua, including the old sugar mill area and Mokulēʻia
  • Pūpūkea, on the ridge above Shark’s Cove
  • Sunset Beach and the coastline in between, from Waimea Bay to the Sunset Beach Park area

Parked at Haleʻiwa Aliʻi Beach Park, Laniākea or Waimea Bay and can’t get back in? Note the nearest landmark or pole marker and send it with your text so we can find your car.

North Shore Lock & Key Tips

  • Don’t hide the key on the car. Magnetic boxes and keys under the tire are well known to car break-in crews at beach lots. A small waterproof pouch on your leash or in your pocket is safer.
  • Saltwater kills fobs. If a key fob gets dunked, rinse it with fresh water, take out the battery and let it dry completely before trying it. If it still won’t work, the fob may need to be replaced and programmed.
  • Salt air on door hardware. Homes near the water see corrosion faster. Rinse exterior handles now and then and use a dry lubricant. When a lock starts to grind, get it looked at before the key snaps.
  • Vacation rental hosts: rekey or reset codes between long-term guests, and keep a spare physical key somewhere secure in case a keypad battery dies.
  • Rental cars: call the rental company before any locksmith work. Our post on what to do if a rental car key fob is lost explains why.
