Sometimes a rekey isn’t enough. The lock is loose, rusted from salt air, or just not the level of security you want anymore. Maybe you’re ready for a keypad so the kids stop losing keys. Mililani Key Solutions handles lock change and installation at homes and businesses across Oʻahu, and we come to you with the hardware know-how to fit it right.

What We Install

  • Deadbolts: single-cylinder and double-cylinder, standard and high-security
  • Handle sets and knobs: entry, privacy and passage sets
  • Smart and keypad locks: keyless entry for homes, rentals and offices
  • Lever handles: easier to use for kūpuna and anyone with limited grip
  • Sliding door and gate locks
  • Commercial door hardware, including storefront locks and exit devices (see commercial services)

Signs It’s Time for a New Lock

  • The key sticks, grinds or only works at a certain angle
  • The deadbolt doesn’t fully extend, or the door has to be pushed to lock
  • Visible rust or corrosion, common near the ocean
  • The handle is loose or wobbles even after tightening
  • You want a keypad, a smart lock or a stronger deadbolt
  • The lock was damaged in a break-in attempt

If your locks are in good shape and you just need old keys to stop working, rekeying is often enough.

How a Lock Change Works

  1. Call or text (808) 636-9894. Tell us about the door and what you have in mind. Quotes over the phone are free.
  2. Choose your hardware. We can talk through options for your door, or install a lock you’ve already bought.
  3. We come to you and remove the old hardware.
  4. We fit the new lock, adjusting the strike and latch so the door closes and locks smoothly.
  5. Keys and codes. We cut keys, key multiple locks alike if you’d like, and help you set up codes on keypad locks.

Our installs are backed by a 30-day warranty on labor and parts.

Smart and Keypad Locks

Keypad and smart locks are popular for families, vacation rentals and small offices. You can give a code to a house sitter, change it when they leave, and never hide a key under the mat again. Before you buy one:

  • Check the door’s thickness and the existing holes; some models fit standard bores, others need adjustments
  • Choose a model with a backup key or emergency battery contacts
  • If you’re in an association or condo, confirm exterior hardware rules first
  • Plan for battery changes; a dead battery is a common cause of lockouts

We install smart and keypad locks and will make sure the deadbolt throws cleanly, because a smart lock fighting a misaligned door will drain batteries fast.

Island Conditions Matter

Salt air, rain and strong sun all wear on exterior hardware. On homes near the shore in places like ʻEwa Beach or Haleʻiwa, look for finishes and materials made to resist corrosion. Up on the plateau in Mililani and Wahiawā, regular showers mean drainage and lubrication matter.
